Dom Pérignon Plénitude 2 (P2) Vintage 2008 is often described as the "ultimate expression" of what many critics call the vintage of the century.
While the standard Vintage 2008 (Plénitude 1) was released after approximately 8 years on the lees, the P2 has spent roughly 15 years in the cellars. This extended maturation allows the wine to reach its second "plenitude"—a window of time where its energy, complexity, and longevity are at their absolute peak.

To understand the P2, you have to look at the base year. 2008 in Champagne was characterized by a cool, grey summer followed by a perfect, sun-drenched September. This resulted in a rare "double high": high acidity and high sugar ripeness, creating wines with immense structure and aging potential.
